I did this piece as a blanket statement for my genre. This piece hits on the other topics I go into more in depth in the other genres, plus a couple other points. I decided to do top ten lists to open up my project and introduce the main topics. I tried to order the facts from least to most impactful. I wanted the second to last fact to be one that was really hard hitting. I think the lists get right to the point and are a good way to state the facts. I wanted to create something that opened up the topic but didn’t go too in depth. That way there are some hard hitting facts that whet the viewer's appetite and make them interested to delve further into the other genres to explore these topics. This way I could also mention a few other important points that I don’t explore too in depth in the other genres. I pulled from a lot of the sources I used in my other genres. Most of the statistics are from the Model Alliance and the article “The Fashion Industry Promotes Eating Disorders.” I also pulled points from many other articles from places like the Huffington Post, Berkeley, and PLUS Model Magazine. Overall I am happy with how it turned out. I think it is a good piece to introduce the project. I like that there’s really no sugar coating. It says here’s what I’m discussing, and here are the main issues. I think seeing these facts laid out so plainly does a good job at exposing the flaws in fashion. I’m happy with the look of it although the image is showing up as lower quality on the website, which I can’t seem to fix. I tried to use colors and decorations that would make it seem like a criminal case file, or a missing persons flyer. I wanted it to have that drastic, somewhat sinister feel; a theme that means business. Although it is not my strongest piece I’m pleased with the way it turned out.
